Stephen B. Kandra, 84, of Whiting, NJ passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. He was born in Newark, NJ, son of the late Joseph and Mary Kandra. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie, and siblings, Barbara, Joseph, Paul, and Robert. Stephen worked for NJ Bell, later AT&T, for 35 years. He served our country during the Cuban Missile Crisis while in the Naval Reserves. In retirement, he and Marie enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, and throughout the U.S. and other countries. He was deeply devoted to his family and his faith. Steve’s sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving children, Joseph (Cynthia) Kandra of North Huntingdon, PA, and Maria Kandra of Tom’s River; and two beloved grandchildren, Alexander and Christiana. A heartfelt thanks to his neighbors, Druann and Paul, for the care and friendship they provided when he needed it most. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 13th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Inurnment will follow at the chapel. Due to Lent, no flowers are allowed in the church at this time.
