Walter C. King, Jr., 86, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Whiting Healthcare Center. Walter was born and raised in Carteret, NJ. He moved to Whiting in 1999. He was a lab technician at Union Carbide in Carteret for 45 years before retiring. He was the Past Master of Theodore Roosevelt Lodge #219 Free & Accepted Masons, Carteret and a member of their Craftsman’s Club. He was a 33rd Degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. He was Past Elder of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Carteret and presently, he was a member of the Community Reformed Church in Whiting.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Gladys (Sabo) King; one daughter, Deirdre Gill and her partner, Scott Cobb of Toms River; one son, Walter C. King, III and his partner, James Spadola of Bloomfield; two granddaughters, Alexandra Gill and Rachel Vogel and her husband, Scott and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Friday, Dec 28th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Entombment will be Saturday, Dec. 29th at 11:30 a.m. at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Community Reformed Church, 30 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759 would be appreciated.
